Last year in December we decided to visit Sudh Mahadev. We left our home at 6:30 a.m. early in the morning and reached there after about 3 hours.
Sudh Mahadev.
Shud Mahadev is basically a Hindu religious temple and a famous tourist spot in J&K.It is historically 2800 years old.The temple is surrounded by mountains and beautiful Chinar trees.A trident(Trishul) is housed within the temple,belonged to the God Shiv who killed demon there.It has a black marble self-made lingam and Goddess Parvati mounted on the Nandi.

It is excellent place for holidays amidst breath taking scenery. Then,we offered prayers and seek the blessing of the God and then we moved towards Gouri Kund.

Gouri kund is one of the most highly sacred springs situated about two miles west of Shudh Mahadev. Gouri Or Parvati is believed to have meditated and offered penance here for twelve years to speak the favour of lord Shiva.The sacred character of the region also derives from the fact that Devak stream considered in Purnas as the holiest of the holy rivers is also here. I felt very happy at Gouri Kund .

A famous and popular tourist spot situated at a height of 2050 mt.All covered with thick and tall pine and deodar trees.Tourists flock to it in summer to escape heat of plains,and in winter to enjoy snow.Many tourists huts and a youth hostel have been constructed here.We went there in winters.The beautiful snow covered view of nature,horse riding and endearing hills are still lingering in my memory.We felt enjoyed when we were at the top Patnitop hill at that time it was snowing there.Such scene of natural snowing has embedded in my mind that is ever lasting.
